Banteay Samré ប្រាសាទបន្ទាយសំរែ is a Khmer temple in the central part of Angkor erected at the beginning of the 12th century.
The temple is located between Roluos in the south and Bantey Srei in the north. Its bud-like roof is very typical architecture of that period in Angkor Wat. Its name means “Fortress of Samré”, referring to an ancient local tribe.

Special about Banteay Samré are the reliefs and pictures decorating the temple which show a variety of Hindu and Buddhist symbols.
The architecture is very similar to Thommanon and Chau Say Tevoda – which are also small temples built during the same period.
